On November 4-6, 2018, training course on Capacity Building of Mass Media Representatives on Public Speakink, Monitoring and Reporting was held by "New Generation" Humanitarian NGO.
On the first day of the training ‘Pink Armenia’ NGO’s representative and journalist Hovhannes Ishkhanyan presented ‘Proper and impartial coverage of LGBT issues’ topic, speaking about journalism ethics, the right and wrong terminology used in LGBT topics, the hate speech and its dissemination in the Armenian media.
The day continued Sergei Gabrielyan, the president of the New Generation Humanitarian NGO, who presented the topic of project monitoring and report writing skills.
On the second day, Hmayak Avetisyan, trainer and specialist of Rhetorics and Language Culture, started his training course. He presented "Safe Space for Vulnerable Groups", "Working with NGOs. Opportunities and Challenges "," Strategic Planning. Decision-Making" topics, during which participants learned what violence is and what types of violence exist, how to create a safe place for vulnerable groups, what forms of decision-making exist to work with NGOs for more effective action.
The training was full of active questions and answers, interactive exercises, video and slide-show presentations.
